I worked with the IBM Linguist and the Human Factors Engineer assigned to the continuous speech recognition project to develop user guides for business and home users.

The ViaVoice Project Director contracted me to develop the the user guides because he "did not want another IBM army manual."

I developed the Cooperative Education Handbook for the three key participants in the program: students, faculty-coordinators, and employers, who could enter into a "learning contract" that met curriculum requirements in the student's A.S. Degree program and allow the student to earn elective credits toward the Associate's Degree..

I wrote and won the competitive federal grant for the college cooperative program, and employed college faculty as coordin- ators who implemented student learning contracts with local business & industry, Including IBM, RCA, Pratt & Whitney, Siemens, and Motorola.

I worked with software engineers and with headquarters management of The Sports Authority Inc. to develop the StaffWorks User Guide used to train department managers prior to a nation-wide rollout of a staffing software application designed to help managers optimize staffing metrics for forecasted business sales, staffing needs (including special events), staff availibility and preferences, work rules (maximum overtime, consecutive days, days off, hrs/wk) and to reduce the schedule creation time from 1 day to 30 minutes.
